Our Pentair Pentek range of granular activated carbon filters are used to remove chlorine, VOC’s, THM’s and other chemicals from your water. Designed for use in drinking water applications, these filters improve the overall taste, odour and appearance of your water. These NSF 42 Certified filters are manufactured using high quality coconut carbon inside a cartridge shell, to maximise contact time with the water for optimal adsorption. These cartridges are available in two sizes, including the CC-10 (10” x 2.5” Regular Diameter) and GAC-20BB (20” x 4.5” Large Diameter) with double open ended fitment to suit all industry standard filter housings.

Description
Carbon filters have been used for decades to remove chlorine and other contaminants from water for industrial, process and drinking water applications. Coconut carbon filters are predominantly microporous, which means they have an exceptionally large surface area and are effective at adsorbing chlorine, VOC’s, THM’s, herbicides, pesticides and halogens from water – dramatically improving the taste and odour in drinking applications. In addition, the low pressure drop through granular carbon filters makes them a popular choice over carbon block cartridges in many applications.
These filters flow longitudinally to maximise contact time, whereby the water enters at the bottom and is forced up through the carbon media, before exiting at the top. Featuring filter pads to prevent media migration and an integrated gasket at the top of the filter to provide a positive seal with the filter housing and prevent bypass.
How Often Do I Need To Change These Pentair Granular Carbon Filters?
In domestic applications we recommend changing these filters every 12 months. For industrial or light commercial applications, see relevant data sheets under the ‘Resources’ tab for filter capacity. Please note that all granular carbon filters need to be flushed for a short period of time after initial installation. This is to remove any excess carbon fines that may migrate from the filter during the first use.
