Turbidex is a filtration media used inside a backwashing vessel to remove suspended sediment from water. This unique clinoptilolite ore is extremely angular, with rough surfaces and a microporous structure to deliver higher flow rates and superior water quality when compared to traditional multimedia or sand filters. The sediment loading capacity is up to 2.8 times greater than filtration sand, meaning longer service time, less frequent backwashing and as such offers a water saving. Supplied in strong, tear resistant 1cuft (~22kg) bags.

Description
Turbidex Filtration Media is the preferred media for suspended sediment control for private water supplies and a range of other high flow rate applications. It’s high porosity and hydrophilic nature allows it to operate at higher service flow rates than conventional sand or filtration media, offering lower pressure drops and extended service time between regenerations. Turbidex is an all-natural and environmentally friendly filtration media.
Turbidex incorporates traditional straining as well as ion-exchange, flocculation, sedimentation and both physical and electrostatic absorption, producing crystal clear waters down to <0.1 NTU of turbidity. How Often Do I Need To Replace Turbidex Filtration Media?
Turbidex should be regularly backwashed to clean captured sediment from the media, in order to allow it to continue effective operation. Replacing the media once every 4-6 years is recommended to maintain optimum performance.
