Crystal Right media is popular for private water supplies thanks to its ability to remove dissolved iron, manganese and hardness. The media can also be used to balance the pH of acidic water and remove ammonia. Suitable for use in backwashing systems, CR100 media is designed to be regenerated using a strong brine solution much like with an ion-exchange water softener. Able to perform the job of multiple treatment stages from a single media bed.

To establish the capacity of your existing Crystal Right system, check against the vessel size and match to the recommended media volume below. CR100 is sold in 1 CuFt bags (~22.7kg). If you have a duplex system, you will need double the volume if replacing both media beds.

Iron, Manganese & Hardness

Crystal Right Media is a synthetic Zeolite manufactured in the USA to treat non-oxidised iron and manganese in water from private supplies. The media can be sanitised using chlorine to prevent the potential build-up of bacterial iron (where identified in a water analysis). Compared with other iron and manganese treatment media Crystal Right CR100 is relatively light, meaning its backwash flow rate is lower than the service flow rate.

CR100 Media Usage Parameters (Feed Requirements):
Minimal hardness (50mg/L); Minimum TDS > 80 mg/L
Maximum content of iron and manganese: 15 mg/L
Hydrogen sulphide (H2S): Less than 0.5ppm
Aluminium should not be present in the water
Free from sediment and insoluble ferric iron
Capacity CR100: 30g/L resin
pH between 5.7 – 14

How Often Do I Need To Replace Crystal Right Media?
When used appropriately the media has a lifetime 20+ years, with some systems running in excess of 35 years with the original media. To ensure the media is backwashed correctly ensure the brine tank is kept topped up with salt at all times.

Communication was easy and quick resulted in an easy order and now having fitted the filter i can say its a great product easy to install and appears good quality apart from the four mild steel bracket screws stainless would have been better considering the environment these are fitted. Great softeners and exceptional customer service. The water softener I bought needed some adjustments with the installation setup where I supported throughout. The customer service is honestly next level. I had countless calls with Becky Gillett, the Sales Manager, over a period of months to get to the bottom of it. She was incredibly patient with me, staying on the phone and doing video calls to walk me through the programming instructions step-by-step while I changed the settings and ensured all was installed correctly.

All the staff here have been great, but Becky really stuck with me from start to finish to make sure it was sorted and working well. It runs like a dream now.
