Crystal Right Media

£280.00£300.00

Our Crystal Right Media is popular for use with private water supplies thanks to its ability to remove iron, manganese and hardness. The media also reduces ammonia and in the case of CR100 balances the pH of acidic water. Designed for use in backwashing systems the media works by ion-exchange and can be regenerated using a brine solution much like a water softener. Performing the job of multiple treatment stages from a single media bed.

Crystal Right CR100 has a high capacity for reducing iron and manganese but a lower capacity for hardness. Recommended for water with a pH between 6-7.

Crystal Right CR200 has a high capacity for reducing iron and manganese and a comparatively higher capacity for hardness caused by calcium and magnesium. Recommended for water with a pH between 7-11.

Why Choose Our Crystal Right Media?

  • Multiple contaminants targeted by a single media
  • Regenerable using a brine solution
  • Long service life of up to 20 years
  • Low backwashing flow rates

Description

Crystal Right is a synthetic Zeolite manufactured in the USA for the specific purpose of treating non-oxidised iron and manganese in water from private supplies. The media can be sanitised using chlorine to tackle the potential build up of bacterial iron. Compared with other iron and manganese treatment media Crystal Right is relatively light, meaning its backwash flow rate is lower than the service flow rate.

When choosing between CR100 or CR200 media, the following parameters should be considered:

CR 100 Media
Minimal hardness (50mg/L); TDS > 80 mg/L; pH between 5.7 – 14.
Maximum content of iron and manganese: 15 mg / L
Aluminium should not be present in the water
Capacity CR100: 30g/L resin

CR 200 Media
Minimal hardness (50mg/L); TDS > 80 mg/L; pH between 7 – 14.
Maximum content of iron and manganese: 15 mg/L
Aluminium should not be present in the water
Capacity CR200: 40g/L resin

For the removal of Ammonia (NH3) CR100 is to be used

How Often Do I Need To Replace Crystal Right Media?
When used appropriately Crystal Right media has a lifetime of over 20 years, with some systems running in excess of 35 years with the original media. If it is being used in a backwashing system (recommended) then you need to ensure that the brine tank is kept topped up with salt.
