Chloramine Carbon Block Filters
£28.00 – £160.00
Our Chloramine Carbon Block Filters are specialist catalytic carbon filters designed to target and remove chloramine from water. In addition, these modified carbon block filters also offer the same benefits as a traditional carbon filter, such as removing chlorine, chlorine by-products like THM’s and other volatile organic compounds. Manufactured to NSF/ANSI 42 standards and FDA compliant materials for use in drinking water or food and beverage environments. Available in 10” and 20” regular (2.5”) or large (4.5″) diameter with double open ends to suit all industry standard filter housings.
Why Choose Our Chloramine Carbon Block Filters?
- Manufactured from FDA compliant materials for drinking water uses
- High grade catalytic carbon for the removal of chloramines
- Available to suit regular or large diameter filter housings
- Certified to NSF/ANSI 42 standards

Description
These Chloramine Carbon Block Filters are manufactured to the highest standards, without chemical additives or binders. This ensures they are suitable for even the most critical processes, delivering exceptional flow rates and capacity with minimal pressure drop. Where a standard carbon block does not suffice in terms of capacity in any process application, a catalytic carbon filter can also be considered due to its favourably higher chlorine reduction capacity.
Chloramine is both undesirable in drinking water and problematic in several applications including aquatics, brewing, renal dialysis, hydroponics, pharmaceuticals and photography development. Chloramine is a combination of chlorine and ammonia, which is increasingly used by municipalities to disinfect drinking water. It is a longer lasting and more chemically stable disinfectant than chlorine, which is what makes it difficult to remove using a standard carbon filter or by boiling. Only catalytic carbon can break down the chlorine and ammonia bond and remove these chemicals from your water. Thanks to the catalytic properties of the carbon used to make these filters, they are also far more effective at removing hydrogen sulphide from water than traditional carbon blocks.
How Often Do I Need To Change These Chloramine Carbon Block Filters?
In domestic settings, these filters should be changed once every 12 months for properties with 1-2 occupants, or every 6 months for properties with 3+ occupants. For commercial applications, please refer to the specification tab for further data on cartridge lifespan.
