Drinking Water Filtration

Drinking water filters are widely used in homes and offices to provide bottle quality drinking water straight from the tap. Typically employing 1 or more stages of filtration to remove sediment, chlorine, lead and other contaminants to improve the taste, odour and appearance of water.

  • For Your Home – Drinking enough water every day can be a challenge, especially when the drinking water from your tap lacks that crisp, fresh taste of bottled water. Take control of your drinking water by filtering the water that feeds your home.

  • For Your Business – As a business you can save money on the drinking water you provide to employees and customers with one of our filtration systems. Gone are the days of a monthly subscription and costly water cooler maintenance, start taking control of your water.

Different Types Of Drinking Water Filters

There are four main technologies that are popular for drinking water filtration. Below we have given an overview of each technology and a list of the contaminants that they remove.

Sediment Filtration – Using a sediment filter removes particulate from your water including dirt, silt, sand and rust. Improving the appearance and mouthfeel of your drinking water.

Carbon Filtration – Activated carbon filters are used to remove an extensive list of contaminants from your water including chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, nitrates, PFOS, pharmaceuticals and chlorine by-products like THM’s. Carbon filters improve the taste, odour and appearance of water and are found in many drinking water systems including water coolers and filter jugs.

Reverse Osmosis – Reverse Osmosis systems produce the very best quality drinking water, using multiple stages including sediment and carbon filtration followed by a reverse osmosis membrane. In addition to the contaminants listed above they also reduce sodium, lead, fluoride, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous. However, with reverse osmosis there is a proportion of waste water.

pH Correction – Water with a pH lower than 6.5 is likely to be contaminated and can corrode metal pipework. Low pH is usually an issue associated with private water supplies, as local water boards that supply homes and businesses with mains water monitor the pH closely. Where pH needs correcting a filter that doses water with naturally occurring calcium carbonate is employed.

What Are The Benefits Of Filtering Drinking Water?

Filtering your water gives you complete control over what it contains and how it tastes. The beauty of filtration is that you can include as many, or as few stages as you wish, to tackle the contaminants you really care about. Whether you are looking for a filter to make drinking water more palatable, or for something to remove chemicals like fluoride – you can craft your water to suit your specific requirements using a filtration system.

Improved Taste

Filtering your water removes sediment and chemicals like chlorine which makes your water taste and smell better.

Save Money

Save money by installing your own drinking water filter when compared to buying bottled water or using a filter jug.

Go Green

Look after the environment and ditch the bottled water, you won’t need to buy bottles when your tap water tastes just as good.
