Our Anti Microbial Spun Sediment Filters are specialised filters impregnated with silver ions. They offer particulate removal with the added benefit of preventing the growth of trapped bacteria and microorganisms within the filter. The silver ions inhibit the build-up of slimy biofilm, a common issue in unchlorinated water supplies such as boreholes and wells. Each size is manufactured from WRAS approved materials and is suitable for use with drinking water applications.

Description
When filters are installed on unchlorinated water systems such as private water supplies trapped bacteria can build up in the filter. This can lead to a slimy, smelly biofilm forming which can affect the taste and odour of the water downstream. Our Anti Microbial Spun Sediment filters are impregnated with silver ions, which actively stops any micro-organisms from multiplying and in turn prevents the build-up of biofilm on the filter.
Spun Bonded Sediment Filters (also known as ‘depth filters’) are popular thanks to their high sediment holding capacity and ability to trap a broad range of particulate. Working in the same way as a traditional spun filter the media effectively traps particulate such as sand, silt, dirt and rust.
How Often Do I Need To Change These Anti Microbial Spun Sediment Filters?
These filters need to be changed every 6-12 months, or when visibly dirty.
