Indigo Domestic Water Softener

£540.00£550.00

Our Indigo Domestic Water Softener is recommended for use within small to large houses (1-5 Occupants) or light commercial applications, where there is no direct access to mains power. The unit itself features a compact Dove Grey cabinet design with either 10L or 15L resin capacity and reliable metered valve from Autotrol, which controls regeneration according to your typical water usage. Requiring between 1.5-2.2kg~ of salt, this system is ideal for a range of applications, with a capacity of 1700 to 2500 litres at 300PPM. The low footprint of the Indigo Domestic Water Softener means it can be easily installed under a kitchen sink.

As a battery powered, metered water softener the system does not require a nearby mains power supply and operates more efficiently when compared to non-electric systems as it’s specifically programmed to regenerate based on your exact water hardness. Please note that batteries are included with this unit (2x D type batteries).

Why Choose The Indigo Range?

  • Great for space sensitive applications due to small footprint
  • Metered valve adjusts to your water usage which reduces water waste
  • Impressive capacity meaning more time between regenerations
  • No mains power connection required for installation

Key Product Information

  • Compact design for under sink installation
  • Metered valve to control regeneration
  • Suitable for small to large houses
  • Constructed from WRAS approved materials and WRAS listed Autotrol valve

Please note that the Indigo Domestic Water Softener has been discontinued and is no longer available. If you are looking for a system with a battery-operated valve then please get in touch with a member of our team who will be happy to assist. We apologize for any inconvenience.

You can check the hardness of water in your area with your local water board or by visiting our Locations With Hard Water page for a visual representation and a reading in PPM (Parts Per Million). For for a more accurate measurement that is specific to your location we suggest using a Water Hardness Test which will give you a reading that can then be used to efficiently program the regeneration cycle of your Water Softener.

Please note that the volume of water before regeneration for our water softeners is quoted at an average water hardness of 300PPM

When choosing an Electric Water Softener it is important to consider the following:

  • Where You Are Going To Install The Water Softener – The location should have access to a mains water supply, drainage system and a power source. It should also be accessible so that you can easily top up the salt when required.

  • Which Model Suits Your Home – To ensure you choose the right softener you need to know how many people live in the house and the water hardness of your area. If you don’t know your water hardness you can usually find this on your local water boards website or using a water hardness test kit. The hardness of your water and estimated water usage (based on the number of occupants) are what is used to program the valve that controls the regeneration of your softener.

  • Who Is Going To Install It – All of our Water Softeners require an installation kit in order for an effective installation, which are available separately. The installation kits include inlet and outlet hoses, bypass set and a drain hose. When ordering an installation kit you must ensure that the fittings suit your existing pipework which is generally either 15mm or 22mm in the home. Most plumbers are able to install a water softener, however if you have DIY experience then you should be able to install it yourself.

  • Supply Of Salt – Salt is required for the regeneration of your Water Softener. It is important to follow the product manual to ensure the system is not over or under-filled. Keeping the salt level of your system in line with the product manual specification will increase it’s lifespan so is highly recommended. Salt is also available for purchase separately and comes in an easy to use tablet form.
