Scale Block Whole House Scale Inhibitors
£67.00 – £365.00
Our Scale Block Whole House Scale Inhibitors are tried and tested limescale prevention systems for your home. Using a unique technology called TAC (Template Assisted Crystallisation) they effectively treat hard water to prevent limescale formation without removing healthy minerals like calcium and magnesium. Scale Block systems can be installed at the point of entry to treat water feeding your whole house, the treated water is safe to drink so you don’t need to worry about a hard water line for drinking.
Requiring no electricity, no salt and little maintenance these systems can last up to 3 years before the media inside needs to be replaced.
Why Choose Our Whole House Scale Inhibitors?

Description
Scale Block Whole House Scale Inhibitors work using TAC technology. This is where scale-forming molecules such as calcium and magnesium are stuck together to form inactive crystals which float freely through pipes and heating systems, without sticking to surfaces. The chemistry of your water remains unchanged, meaning you can enjoy mineral-rich drinking water without the associated problems of hard water like limescale build-up. This technology is the first effective salt and chemical free limescale prevention method, with replacement cartridges costing less on average than running an ion exchange water softener.
Designed to treat mains water at the point of entry these low-maintenance water conditioners have no moving parts to break or fail. Smaller Scale Block systems can also be installed to protect a single appliance from limescale build-up, like a washing machine or dishwasher. To help you choose the right system for your home please refer to our comparison table listed under the ‘resources’ tab below.
A Reliable Salt Free Water Softener Alternative
There are many alternatives to a traditional ion exchange water softener on the market, however few of these are proven to be effective. Our Scale Block Whole House Scale Inhibitors are one of the few tried and tested options available that can both prevent limescale formation and clear existing build-up. We have even conducted our own trials of these systems and you can check out our findings for yourself under the ‘resources’ tab.
How Often Do I Need To Replace The Cartridge In These Whole House Scale Inhibitors?
For single appliance systems (SB10-SL) the cartridge should be replaced annually. For larger systems (SB10-BB & SB20-BB) the cartridge needs to be replaced every 2-3 years. There will be signs that the cartridge needs replacing such as scale formation on taps or shower heads.

Installation Information
For installations where new copper pipework is required on the feed to the scale block system, the new pipework should be left to passivate for a minimum of 4 weeks. We recommend installing the filter housing without the cartridge during this period, inserting the cartridge at a later date when the pipework has had time to passivate. If this is not done then excess copper can foul the media and dramatically reduce its lifespan and effectiveness.
