High Flow Rate Turbidity Removal
Backwashing sediment filters are particularly popular for private water supplies or commercial applications, where there is a requirement for significant sediment removal at high flow rates. Once installed they require very little maintenance, with backwashes controlled on a timer basis, which can be set to occur ‘out of hours’ such as at 02:00am. Turbidex media has an average service life of 4-6 years before replacement is recommended, making it an extremely cost-effective solution compared to disposable filter cartridges or bags.
Each system is supplied partially assembled with some of the valve programming already complete, onsite assembly and minimal programming (setting time of day) is required. Systems come as standard with Clack WS1 control valve, with 1” inlet and outlet. All systems require a gravel bed, with the specific volume of bedding gravel supplied as part of the kit.

Turbidex is an all-natural and sustainable Zeolite (also known as Clinoptilolite) media, giving peace of mind to the environmentally conscious and reassurance for those where backwash effluent will feed into a septic tank or soakaway.
How Often Do I Need To Replace The Turbidex Filtration Media?
Turbidex media offers a long service life of between 4-6 years before the media should be replaced. Signs that the media might be nearing the end of its life include an increase in turbidity, drop in flow rate or pressure and poor backwash performance, whereby backwashing no longer restores flow, pressure or water clarity.
