Client Profile
Charitable Agricultural Trust supporting 20+ businesses and 200 residents to carry out cutting edge research.

The Challenge
Unable to deliver consistent commercial-grade deionised (DI) water to multiple lab stations simultaneously.

The Solution
Installation of a centralised, custom-built DI water ring main with built-in capacity for future expansion.
Client Overview
Founded in 1889, this charitable organisation has been a cornerstone of agricultural science, playing a crucial role in enabling scientific work by providing essential land, facilities and financial support.
The client manages two major estates, hosting more than 20 agricultural businesses – including several emerging start-ups and offering housing for nearly 200 residents. A key part of their mission is ensuring that their laboratories remain equipped with the modern, reliable infrastructure necessary to carry out cutting-edge research.
The Challenge
Laboratories needed a robust, commercial-grade deionised (DI) water ring main capable of supplying multiple research stations simultaneously.
The new system had to meet the following strict requirements:
- Provide consistently high‑purity water for sensitive experiments
- Deliver stable flow and pressure throughout the laboratory
- Comply with strict laboratory and research standards
- Operate with minimal ongoing maintenance
This upgrade was absolutely essential to support the growing demands of their scientific programmes, improving both operational capacity and efficiency.
The Solution
We designed and supplied a custom DI water ring main system built specifically around the needs of the laboratory environment. The system specified included:
Laboratory-Grade Purity: Centralised DI water production unit capable of delivering laboratory‑grade purity.
Integrated RO System: A high-production RO system featuring easy access to supporting filtration elements.
Balanced Distribution: A ring main layout cleverly designed to maintain consistent flow and pressure at every outlet.
Future Proof Design: Built-in capacity for expansion as research requirements evolve, using lab-safe materials for longevity.
To deliver the project, we worked alongside a highly experienced installation engineer with whom we regularly partner on technical water treatment installations. This joint approach ensured that the design, installation, and commissioning stages were carried out smoothly and aligned with the client’s expectations for quality and reliability.
The Results
The immediate result was a seamless, non-disruptive installation. Through careful coordination with our partner engineers and a detailed site survey, we matched the product specifications to the site requirements exactly, avoiding any interruption to ongoing agricultural research.

Client Feedback
“Ultra soft have provided a well-engineered solution for our RO water requirements. The equipment design and installation were well thought out and the installation went very well, with consideration taken while working in Labs and communal areas. We are very pleased with the whole project.”
